Apple QuickTime movie is stored in the format of Apple QuickTime (.mov, .qt) which is a file format for storing and playing back movies with sound. Though developed and supported primarily by Apple Computer, the format of Apple QuickTime isn’t limited to Macintosh operating systems. Apple QuickTime is also commonly used in Windows systems, and other types of computing platforms. In Windows, QuickTime movies usually appear with the .mov filename extension.

For many camcorder owners, most of them have a headache of the video format their camcorders produce. For camcorders like Sony CRX110,NEX-5,VG10E,X550, them produces MTS files which are not compatible with QuickTime. So how to convert AVCHD (mts/m2ts) to QuickTime (mov) files for Mac?

After shooting videos, you may find the Sony .mts files could not be imported to Quicktime. It is necessary to convert to MTS files to a codec that the quicktime can understand. Step 1. Load AVCHD .MTS videos to Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac.
