Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 was released in April 14, 2010 with better performance in video production. The application is available for 64-bit. A few days ago, May 26, the updated version was published with the support to additional layers on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 GPU card. Well, it is much more powerful than ever and the price is much higher.
The new Sony HD camcorder is immaculately built, with a minimalist design that gives the NEX-VG10E a futuristic design which suits the recording capabilities of the HD camcorder. The Sony camcorder also offers a variety of A-mount DSLR optics, for the best in DSLR imaging. At the heart of the device we find Sony’s powerful BIONZTM processor, allowing video recording in super-high resolution at up to 1080i with a 24Mbps bit rate.

Here is my experience of converting AVCHD camcorder video to Adobe Premiere compatible MPEG. I can put HD video to my Adobe Premiere Pro with the marvelous video editing functions. I am using Aunsoft Sony VG10-E MTS/M2TS Converter, which offers high quality and high conversion speed.

Step 1. Load HD video to Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter.
After transferring the HD videos from Sony NEX-VG10E to the computer hard drive, just run the AVCHD camcorder converter, and click the Add button to load HD videos in .m2ts format. The program also works with .mts, .ts, .tp.

Step 2. Choose HD video output format.
Click the Format option and choose HD Video > MPEG-2 HD Video (*.mpg).

Tips:
Adobe Premiere Pro also supports AVI, MP4, WMV import, which are available from the program. However, I prefer MPEG-2 for editing. The Guide for how to Convert AVCHD Camera Videos to AVI for Adobe Premiere?
To get high quality video output, I also click the Settings button, and choose Original for the Bitrate option.

Step 3. Convert Sony NEX-VG10E AVCHD video to MPEG.
Click the convert button under the preview window, and the conversion from M2TS to MPEG-2 starts immediately.

After a while the .mpg file will be ready in the output folder. Just run Adobe Premiere and import the .mpg file for video editing. It is really easy to convert AVCHD video M2TS to MPEG for Adobe Premiere. FYI, the m2ts converter also supports joining avchd videos into one file. You may have a try.
