I have recently purchased Panasonic HDC-HS700 as the new camcorder in 2010, and want to put the recorded videos to iPad. However, Panasonic HS700 camcorder captures videos in AVCHD .mts file format, and I used the 1080/60p recording mode after pressing the side button for 60p recording. iPad only displays videos in 720p with limited supported formats. Thus, it is impossible to directly play Panasonic HS700 MTS on iPad.
After googling HS700 MTS to iPad converter, I tried Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac, and was impressed by the resulting video quality on iPad. It keeps the high quality video and downscales 1080p to 720p, making it easy to play camcorder video on iPad.

If you would like to put HD MTS/M2TS files to iPad to display recorded videos like me, just follow the steps below.

Step 1. Load AVCHD files to Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac.
After transferring .mts files from camcorder to Apple hard drive disk, or copying mts files from the folder directly like AVCHD > BDMV > STREAM, run Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac as the best Mac Panasonic 1080p MTS Converter. Click the “Add” button and browse the .mts files in batch.

Step 2. Choose iPad output format.
Click the “Format” option, and you will find several options for iPad format. Since the source video is 1920×1080 in HD, it is recommended that you choose iPad > iPad HD Video(*.mp4) as output format. The Mac MTS/M2TS converter will convert Panasonic HS700 1080/60p MTS to 720p MP4 for iPad by default.

If you would like to convert MTS to MOV for iPad, just choose Common Video > MTS – QuickTime(*.mov) and click the “Settings” button to change video size to 1280*720.

Step 3. Convert Panasonic HS700 to MP4 on iPad.
Click the convert button under the preview window, and the Mac Panasonic to iPad converter will start converting your Panasonic HS700 1080p MTS to 720p iPad MP4.

After the conversion, you can stream the HD videos to iPad via WiFi or sync videos to iPad via iTunes.

Tips:
