XBMC is a powerful media center tool for Mac and Apple TV. With XBMC, media files could be shared via uPnP, SMB, HTTP and so on. As it supports many different container formats like AVI, MPG, WMV, FLV, MKV, MP4, MOV, etc, you can you enjoy video streaming in ease.
However, XBMC is incompatible with the commercial Blu-ray disk or decrypted Blu-ray movies. While some comments saying it is possible to play AVCHD camcorder .mts or .m2ts files with XBMC, there are also some reporting the error when trying to play AVCHD files with XBMC.

While you would like to stream AVCHD and BD Movies from Mac to Apple TV via XBMC, you should also make the files Apple TV compatible, i.e. convert BD movies and AVCHD files to MP4, MOV in 720p.
